Now, another Crimson Tide playmaker has decided to see what is out there for him beyond the program.

Per a report, Alabama tight end Amari Niblack has entered his name in the transfer portal.

Niblack will have two years of eligibility remaining.

In two seasons at Alabama, Niblack caught 21 passes for 342 yards and five touchdowns.

Alabama has had several coaches change during the transition from Coach Saban to Coach DeBoer, and Niblack's position coach could potentially be another change.

Alabama's tight end room takes a hit, but they still have some depth on the roster. CJ Dippre, a transfer from Maryland, announced earlier in the month he would return to Alabama for another season, and Robbie Outz is a tight end that Alabama has developed from a freshman.

Niblack entering the transfer portal will lead to speculation that his position coach, Joe Cox, could be out at the University of Alabama. If he is, it is possible Alabama could hire Washington's tight end coach, Nick Sheridan. He joined the Huskies' coaching staff in 2022.

2023 Iron Bowl
