There was another wreck in the westbound lanes Friday afternoon, but the affected vehicles have been cleared and traffic is flowing again.

On the other side of the highway, the interstate was closed near mile marker 93 between the Mercedes Benz plant in Vance and the Jefferson County Line.

The Alabama Department of Transportation said the wreck would take some time to clear and motorists should expect delays and consider taking US-11 to travel east.

UPDATE, 3 P.M.: The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the interstate is reopened, but the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 59 near the 97 mile marker, in Tuscaloosa County is currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time.
