Downtown Tuscaloosa's Half Shell Oyster House will host a one-of-a-kind interactive paranormal investigation this Saturday, exploring rumors that the Brown's Corner building that houses the restaurant is haunted.

The event will be hosted by Southern Ghost Girls Tours, a group of TV personalities led by Birmingham native Lesley Ann. The team of three paranormal investigators explores the diverse culture of some of the oldest buildings in the South, especially in Alabama.

This public event will feature hands-on experience using real ghost-hunting equipment in an attempt to uncover the building's oldest secrets.

For more than a century, the historic Brown's Corner building has reportedly exhibited signs of the paranormal, from mysterious footprints and handprints to disembodied voices and poltergeist activity.

The event will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and will allow participants to investigate the restaurant's second floor before moving through other sections of the building using professional equipment to detect and record paranormal information.

The cost for entry is $40 per participant. Each ticket purchase comes with light appetizers provided by Half Shell and access to a cash bar. Space is limited and tickets are expected to sell out, so anyone interested is encouraged to book their spot as soon as possible.

The event will go on rain or shine and all guests will be required to wear a face covering if the statewide health orders requiring them are not extended.
