Panama City Beach, Florida’s 2021 Gulf Coast Jam Canceled Due to COVID-19 Concerns

Gulf Coast Jam, a country music festival in Panama City Beach, Florida, has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

The festival was originally supposed to take place Sept. 3-5, 2021. But, citing a surge in positive COVID-19 cases in Bay County, Florida, the festival's executive producers decided to make the call and reschedule.

"Organizers encourage everyone to follow guidelines and protocols instituted by local public health officials," read an announcement made on the festival's Facebook page. "Refunds will be made available in seven days."

The festival's lineup was set to include country hotshots like Chris Stapleton, Old Dominion, Brooks & Dunn and nearly 20 others.

The new date for the 9th annual Gulf Coast Jam is June 3-5, 2022. All of the announced artists are still expected to perform as of this article's publication, but the lineup is subject to change.

Anyone ages 12 years and up is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida.

As of Aug. 9, 2021, The New York Times reported that Bay County, Florida is at an "extremely high" risk for COVID-19 infection and spread. Since March 2020, 46% of Bay County's residents have gotten vaccinated, while 24% of its population has contracted the virus.

In the past week, 1,615 Bay County residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
