Greene County Schools to Require Face Masks as New School Year Begins in Alabama
The Greene County Board of Education has decided that mandating masks in its facilities is key to preventing the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
Greene County Schools Superintendent Corey Jones told WVUA 23 News the Board of Education recently voted to authorize a mask mandate for the upcoming school year.
Jones said no students or faculty within the school system contracted COVID-19 last year and approximately 70 to 80 percent of eligible students and faculty have been vaccinated against the virus.
Greene County Schools returned to the classroom Monday, August 2.
