Case Dixon Gets Endorsement in GOP 6th District Race
The Republican primary opponent for six term Hoover U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-6) is getting some serious backing from the Alabama Republican Assembly, an organization that calls themselves the "Conscience of the Republican Party." They have endorsed political newcomer Case Dixon, who qualified for the May 19th party primary earlier this year to challenge Palmer.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Republican Assembly,” Dixon said in a press release. “The ALRA represents the conscience of our party—grassroots conservatives who demand limited government, adherence to the Constitution and ethical leadership. Their endorsement sends a clear message that Alabama Republicans are ready for principled, accountable representation in Washington.”

Dixon has been a frequent critic of Palmer, blasting him for his vote for a sweeping federal spending package, accusing veteran office holder of abandoning conservative principles and Alabama families.
The winner of the primary battle between Palmer and Dixon will take on Democratic nominee Keith Pilkington in the November General Elections. He became the default Democratic Party nominee when business executive Elizabeth Anderson dropped out of the Democratic Primary.
Palmer was first elected to congress in 2014. He attended the University of Alabama and earned a B.S. in Operations Management. While at UA he was a walk-on member of the football team under Coach Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant.
Dixon was born in Alabaster according to his campaign material and now lives in McCalla. He was homeschooled by his mother. He works as a physical therapist, is married and is the father of two daughters.
Alabama’s 6th Congressional District includes the southern suburbs of Birmingham and Shelby, Bibb, Chilton and Coosa counties. The district is considered solidly Republican.
