An annual event that promotes fatherhood, father figures and other strong family bonds will return to Tuscaloosa's Snow Hinton Park next weekend.

Tuscaloosa’s One Place, A Family Resource Center will host Fathers in the Park for next Saturday, June 10th, at Snow Hinton Park on McFarland Boulevard.

The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. next Saturday until 1 p.m., and fathers, children and families of all ages can expect a "water slide bounce house," games, free food, live music and more.

Families are at the core of TOP's mission to connect those in need of support with resources available to them from dozens of public and private programs in the area.

Fathers in the Park will honor and celebrate the role that dads and father figures play in the development of young people in and around Tuscaloosa and also offer an opportunity to make memories of having fun in the sun at Snow Hinton.

Fathers in the Park is coordinated through TOP’s CHAMPS program, which stands for Changing Habits and Making Parents Stronger. Through education, employment opportunities and events like Fathers in the Park, CHAMPS aims to make parenting a more positive experience for everyone involved.

“Spending quality time with your loved ones strengthens the bonds that matter most,” said Roosevelt Jackson, Director of the CHAMPS Program at TOP. “Fathers in the Park welcomes all families and strives to strengthen parent engagement with their children.”

Next weekend's event is also sponsored by Whataburger and the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
