Fairy June Gant (June 21st, 1934 – November 4th, 2022)

Fairy June Gant, age 88 of Northport, passed away on November 4, 2022 at her home.

Services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Sulpher Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Taylor and Bro. Terry Oswalt and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will held one hour prior to the services at the church.

She is preceded in death by her husband John F. "Pete" Gant, son; Johnny Wayne Gant, sister; Wanda Lou Cline, and her parents; Henry B. and Margaret Cole Watkins.

Survivors include her Joy Nannette Gant Herzing (Jerry), sisters; Jeannie Rose Lollar Norris, Barbara Joan Shepherd (Macon), Mildred Kay "Midge" Baker, (Edward), brothers; Lester Lynn Watkins (Shelia), Henry Bobbie Watkins, grandchildren; Peter Gant (Leah), great-grandchildren; Preston Gant, Haley Hudson, and special companion "Petey."

She was a member of Sulpher Springs FWB for many years, she was also president of
Gorgas Homemakers and a member of Northside Lions Club. She worked at Bryce Hospital for over 30 years.

She loved and grew beautiful flowers in her yard, she enjoyed domino playing, picking and grinning, and camping and fishing.

Pallbearers will be Ben Baker, Rodney Gilliam, Don Davis, Bill Traweek, Donnie Oswalt, and Elden Willingham. Honorary pallbearers are special nurses of Amedysis Hospice, Jamie Robertson, Kay Stephens, Daphne Tice, Paston Damon Rose, Dr. Nancy Tactuk and staff, Dr. William Hills office and staff, special care givers Hilda Oswalt, Tammy Traweek and Amy Martin.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Sulpher Springs Cemetery Fund.
