Expect Another Saturday With Extreme Temperatures

The NWS in Birmingham is preparing Alabamians for another weekend of excessive heat and high humidity.

Heat index values for much of our coverage are expected to exceed 105 degrees on Saturday and a heat advisory has been issued until 9 p.m.

Beating the heat:

The NWS is warning of prolonged heat exposure and advising those dealing with high temps to take breaks and drink plenty of water. If staying inside isn't a possibility, working in the shade is suggested.
