King said Lancaster was driving a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 80 Thursday when, a few minutes after 11:15 a.m., he struck a trailer being hauled by a 2000 Peterbilt driven by a Livingston man.

Lancaster was fatally injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. King said the other driver was hurt and treated at Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis.

No further details were available Friday afternoon, and King said Troopers continue to investigate the accident, which took place about six miles west of Demopolis.
