Empty Bowls Soup Lunch to Raise Money for Tuscaloosa Salvation Army
An event early next week will give West Alabama a chance to sample soups, breads and more while raising money for the local Salvation Army.
The annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser returns to the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway this Tuesday, February 4th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

With a $25 ticket, attendees will receive an empty bowl to take home after the event, but also to fill with soups, salads and bread from more than a half-dozen local restaurants. The vessel also serves as a reminder of those whose bowls are often empty as they battle hunger.
“This event is about more than just a meal—it’s about coming together as a community to provide hope for our neighbors in need,” said Captain Michael Chisolm of The Salvation Army. “Every ticket purchased helps us continue to serve those who are struggling with hunger and homelessness right here in Tuscaloosa.”
Local restaurants set to participate include LongHorn Steakhouse, Jalapeños Mexican Grille, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, and many more.
All the money raised during the event is used to support the Tuscaloosa Salvation Army, and their services of food assistance, shelter and emergency relief.
The Empty Bowls event will also feature a silent auction with donated goods to bid on and take home.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Center of Hope on Greensboro Avenue during normal business hours on weekdays, or online at this link.
