Storms came through West Alabama early Tuesday morning and caused damage in Northport, leaving several hundred without power.

James Spann, Chief Meteorologist for ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, retweeted several reports of damage that occurred during the storm. Most of the damage involved trees falling or being ripped apart by lightning strikes.

Alabama Power maintains a map of all outages across the state as they occur, and as of 9:15 Tuesday morning, around 630 were without electricity in the Tuscaloosa area, with nearly all reports coming from north of the Black Warrior River.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the damage.
