E. Don Lake, age 74 of Northport, Alabama passed away on Jul 24, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel North with Linda Watkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the chapel. Burial will follow at El Bethel (Buncomb) Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lake, and his parents Cecil and Mildred Lake.

Survivors include his daughters Misty Lake Tibbit and Twillia R. Brook, brother Paul Allen Lake, grandchildren Brittany Brook, Taylor Hinkle, Maci Tissier, Davina Tibbit, Cady Tibbit, Olivia Tibbit, great grandchildren Heath Overton, Logan Overton, Rhett Hinkle and Caden Brook and his best friend Dave Tillery.

He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and shortly after graduating he started to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C., within a few years he returned to Alabama to work for the Highway Patrol, eventually joining the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's office in 1968. Don enjoyed a long and fruitful career with the Sheriff's office, returning in 2001 after a total of 37 years in law enforcement. He was a devoted husband to his wife Patsy and a caring father to his daughters. He was raised in church where he played the piano and sang solos regularly. Don committed his life to Christ in 2005 and continued to grow in his walk until his passing. In addition to his devotion for his family, Don was a friend and mentor to many in the law enforcement community garnering him great respect and admiration from all who knew him. His legacy of consummate police work and personal integrity will serve as an inspiration for generations to come.

Pallbearers will be Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Honor Gaurd.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to El Bethel Buncomb Cemetery fund.
