Tuscaloosa Police Chase Ends With Alleged Meth Traffickers Arrested
A police chase in Tuscaloosa ended with three suspects being charged with trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl after they were captured, a spokesperson for the West Alabama Narcotics Agency reports.
Stephanie Taylor, a WANTF and TPD representative, said a narcotics agent attempted to stop a Dodge Durango on Southmont Drive and 51st Street at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver refused to stop and led a pursuit along Old Montgomery Highway into the Duncanville area and on Highway 82 East.
Taylor said a single passenger in the vehicle was seen throwing drugs and a handgun from the SUV before the driver allegedly abandoned it near Whisperwood Drive off 82.

After a short foot pursuit, the two men were taken into custody and held while agents allegedly recovered methamphetamine and the handgun from the roadside where they were thrown.
Further investigation also led WANTF to a local hotel room, where more drugs were discovered and recovered, and a third man who was not involved in the pursuit was arrested.
34-year-old Christopher Andrew Pearson, the Durango driver, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, failure to affix a tax stamp, attempting to elude officers, illegally possessing a firearm, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental operation, Taylor said.
His passenger, 29-year-old Timothy Drake Hodo was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, failure to affix a tax stamp and tampering with physical evidence.
Isaac Hugh Bonner, 38, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking a
controlled substance, two counts of failure to affix a tax stamp and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Taylor said Bonner was the man arrested at the hotel.
All three are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
