Daniel Carter Pike, 65, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Forest Manor Health and Rehab, Northport, AL.

A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m., Thursday, November 16, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. David Watson presiding; Melanie Shannon Metz, vocalist.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Terry Pike, Jr., and his mother, Connie Pike. He is survived by: daughter, Abbie Caroline Pike, Birmingham; brother, David Pike (Lisa), Tuscaloosa; sister, Mary Lyn Pike, Northport; niece, Callie Pike, Birmingham; nephew, Tarleton Pike (Ashley), Northport; great-niece, Harper Pike and great nephew, Tate Pike, Northport. He is also survived by many cousins whom he loved.

As a boy, Daniel was a member of Troop 43, Black Warrior Council of Boy Scouts of America, where his father was a scoutmaster. Daniel graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1977. He joined his father and brother in refereeing high school football and later worked the chains at University of West Alabama football games.

Daniel retired from Hanna Steel where he worked more than 20 years as a forklift operator. He spent his spare time in the woods at his hunting club and counted many of its members as good friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church and previously sang in the church choir as well as with the Crimson Pride Chorus.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Forest Manor, especially those at Station 3, who took such kind and loving care of him.
