Cynthia Marie Sequino Daffin, 85, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, surrounded by the love of family at Hospice of West Alabama.

Born on February 4, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Cindy never lost the spirit of her roots. She carried her unmistakable Brooklyn accent, vibrant personality, and love of all things Italian with her throughout her life, even after making her home in the South in the early 1970s.

Preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Lena Sequino, Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Daffin, Jr.; her brother, Ron Sequino (Lynn) of Lake Wales, Florida; her children, Laura Lineberry (Casey), John R. Woelfel (Jennifer), Debbie Crownover (Kenneth), Robert Daffin III, Cindy Tice (Levon), and Cade Daffin (Gianni Oliveri); and her beloved pets and constant companions Monte and Cannoli.

Cindy was a proud and loving grandmother to Drew Madison, Teri Fioramonti, Jennifer Salinas (Stephen), Ricky Fioramonti, Cade Woelfel, Jessica Phifer (Neil), Courtney Tillery, Amanda Taylor (Sam), and Cara Panno (Austin). She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Cindy’s cancer care teams, especially Dr. John B. Crew, Dr. Grant R. Williams, and the radiation and chemotherapy specialists at the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Special appreciation is also given to Dr. Fabian Salinas for his compassionate care, dedication, and commitment to Cindy’s comfort throughout her journey.

Though her family grieves her loss deeply, they take comfort in the laughter, traditions, stories, and love she leaves behind. Cindy will be remembered for her strength, humor, creativity, faith, and the unmistakable spark she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, honesty, and unequivocal Brooklyn spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.

A memorial service celebrating Cindy’s life will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Perry, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s honor to Hospice of West Alabama would be greatly appreciated.
