A Cottondale man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers confirmed Sunday morning.

Trooper Reginal King, a spokesman with the ALEA, said the crash occurred around 2:37 p.m. along Alabama 159 at the 23 mile marker, about seven miles south of Fayette.

Joseph T. Box, 42, was driving his 2006 Lexus GS300 when he lost control in a curve. The car left the roadway and struck several trees.

Box was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available at this time as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
