The first Cookie Plug in Alabama is now officially serving its "thicc" desserts at 1425 McFarland Boulevard North, where it shares a building with the now-open Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the space that used to house the Chongwah Chinese restaurant.

Launched in California a few years ago, the fast-growing brand marries hip-hop culture, street-art aesthetics and decadent treats that are "part cookie, part cake, part brownie."

The bakery is serving sweet deals during a soft open on Thursday until 5 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. before a Saturday morning grand opening where folks can score giveaways.

On Facebook, Cookie Plug said the first 50 guests at the 11 a.m. grand opening Saturday will win one Free Cookie - called a Phattie - per week for a year.

The brand promises inspired desserts made with high-quality ingredients. The menu features a lineup of mouthwatering regulars like the "OG" chocolate chip cookie, the  "Pixie Junkie" sugar cookie and the "Purple Haze" with white chocolate chips, plus new limited-edition flavors arriving monthly.

Other deals are available looking ahead, with 7 massive cookies and a drink available for $20 on Sunday and Monday.
