A motorcycle rider was killed Monday night after colliding with a truck in Coker, police confirmed Tuesday morning. It was the second fatal motorcycle accident in Tuscaloosa County over the long Labor Day weekend.

Keith Carpenter, the assistant chief of the Northport Police Department, said their officers responded to the call around 8:15 Monday night.

Carpenter said the motorcycle, a Honda, collided with a Chevy Silverado near the intersection of Highway 82 and County Road 140 in Coker, near the Shell service station and TradeMart convenience store.

The rider, a 29-year-old man, did not survive the accident, Carpenter said.

The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of the man's next of kin.
