Mayor Walt Maddox Launches New Podcast in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
It's official: The City of Tuscaloosa is hopping on the podcast craze. Mayor Walt Maddox and the City announced Monday that their new podcast, "Tuscaloosa Talk," is live and available to listen to.
The bi-weekly show will feature the mayor in conversation with leaders in and around Tuscaloosa.
“One of the priorities I identified for this term is continuing to make the City’s work more accessible to the people we serve,” Maddox said in a Monday press release. “This podcast is another way members of our community can stay connected with what’s happening in the City, and get a chance to meet the people who make Tuscaloosa the one and only.”
Maddox first teased the project in June and gave listeners a sneak preview at the lineup of guests coming in the next few episodes. Maddox has already sat down with Don Staley, President of Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports, and Pastor Kennedy at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Now the project has come to fruition. In its inaugural episode, Maddox sits down with City Council President Kip Tyner at Wright's Diner to discuss everything from the Council's goals and Alberta's growth to Tyner's local television program "Great Day Tuscaloosa" and his many cats.
The first episode of Tuscaloosa Talk is now available to stream on major platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and Amazon Music.
