1 Charged in Buhl, Alabama Vehicle Break-In
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged one man in a case of property theft in Buhl earlier this week.
Roy Scott Lovell, 41, was suspected of breaking into a vehicle on Pate Road Monday night. A neighbor called 911 after noticing the break-in as it was happening.
TCSO deputies reported to the scene and detained Lovell, who was in possession of "suspected stolen property," according to a Tuesday evening Facebook post. Investigators followed soon after and were able to connect with the owner of the vehicle.
"Sheriff Abernathy commends the great work by deputies and is happy to see such a great community effort," the post read. "The joint effort among the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and members of our community will continue to make Tuscaloosa County a safer place to live."
Lovell has been charged with first-degree theft of property and is currently in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with a $10,000 bond. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office urges neighbors to follow this simple rule of thumb: if you see something, say something.
