Former Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard and other local legends will return to Tuscaloosa next month for an intimate concert benefitting the Druid City Brewing Company.

The DCBC Crew, especially owner Bo Hicks and his partner in crime Tyler Marshall, take pride in being conveners of smaller bands and musicians, giving artists a venue in the tough Tuscaloosa market and patrons a show they can't find anywhere else.

Hicks is no stranger to putting a show together, either. In addition to hosting countless acts at the brewery in the last 15 years, he also organized two benefit concerts in the DCBC's earliest days - the Tuscaloosa Get Up 1 and 2 - which raised tens of thousands of dollars for folks who were devastated by the EF-4 tornado of April 27th, 2011.

Now, Hicks and Marshall are partnering to present the Tuscaloosa Get Up 3, a benefit concert meant to fund the brewery itself and its leaders' mission to keep local music alive.

The concert, scheduled for December 18th, will be hosted at the historic Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa. The five-act show will exclusively feature Alabama musicians and is presented by DCBC and sponsors including Visit Tuscaloosa, Chuck’s Fish, 5 Restaurant, JNJ Apparel and Hotel Indigo.

The lineup includes Brittany Howard, the former frontwoman of the Alabama Shakes, who has absolutely rocked the Tuscaloosa venues she's played in the past. She is joined by Lee Bains III, Mike Cooley of the Drive-by Truckers, Wanda Wesolowski of the Wanda Band and Jameson Hubbard.

"The lineup for The Tuscaloosa Get Up 3 is a celebration of the best original music Alabama has to offer," Hicks said. "All of these musicians mean so much to those of us here at Druid City Brewing and we’re excited to share their massive talents in a venue as special as the Bama Theatre! Each artist will perform a shorter-than-usual intimate set to accommodate this larger-than-life lineup. We truly hope that this provides a unique experience to the Tuscaloosa community that you won’t find anywhere else!"

Tickets can be purchased online at this link or at the Bama Theatre box office located at 600 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa.

So if a night with some of Alabama's finest musicians sounds good to you, Get Up and get tickets to support Bo, Tyler and everyone else at Druid City Brewing as they continue to work hard to keep Tuscaloosa weird.
