Students and teachers had to evacuate Demopolis High School early Thursday afternoon after the school received a bomb threat.

All students, faculty and staff were immediately evacuated off campus and took shelter in Fairhaven Baptist Church. Currently, the school is being cleared by Demopolis Police officers.

Demopolis City Schools clarified in a Facebook post this was an isolated event. Parents can pick their kids up from Fairhaven Baptist Church, and check them out for the remainder of the school day.

No students will be allowed on campus until after 4:00 p.m. when they can retrieve their vehicles. No students will be allowed inside the building until Friday morning.

Students will report directly to their 4th period class Friday morning. They will have to wait to retrieve their personal belongings until then.
