No Threat To Public As Police Investigate Death in Tuscaloosa County Thursday
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a death on Boswell Road near Coker Thursday morning, but its commander said they do not believe there is any cause for public concern connected to the case.
The VCU investigates almost every death that occurs outside of a hospital setting in Tuscaloosa County, and commander Jack Kennedy said as of 10:30 Thursday morning, investigators do not believe the person found dead was the victim of a homicide.
The investigative unit would not normally comment on a non-criminal case, but Kennedy said road conditions in the area required some police vehicles to park on heavily traveled thoroughfares near Boswell Road, leading a number of civilian passersby to contact area police and ask what was going on.
Kennedy said the VCU does not currently believe there is a threat to the public or any need for concern in the community related to the death.
If police confirm there was no foul play involved in the individual's death, the VCU will likely not comment further on the matter.
Otherwise, stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread for updates if and when they become available.
