Billie Joan Fitts Shattuck (August 6th, 1938 – June 2nd, 2023)

Joan Shattuck, born Billie Joan Fitts, age 84, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on June 2, 2023 at her home.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Blocton, Alabama with Rev. Mike Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Magnolia Chapel North in Northport, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burton Shattuck; parents, Lester and Mary Fitts; sister, Dorothy Fitts; and brother, Lester Fitts.

Survivors include her sons, Cary Shattuck of Northport, Ala. and Jeff Shattuck (April) of LaGrange, Ga.; mother of Caitlin, Stacy Shattuck; grandchildren, Caitlin Shattuck, Parker Shattuck, and Carson Shattuck; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was a 1956 graduate of West Blocton High School where she was Homecoming Queen and a Majorette. She attended Livingston University and was a Cheerleader. Joan retired from WCFT TV 33 and the University of Alabama where she worked in the Broadcasting departments. She loved to yell ROLL TIDE!!

Joan received excellent care from all her caregivers including Regina Tipton, Beret Tidwell, and Hospice of West Alabama.
