A 28-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with the murder of a McCalla man found shot to death Tuesday night.

According to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on Myron Clark Road in McCalla around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, police found a 42-year-old man later identified as Thomas Allen Everett dead at the scene, which was a few miles away from the Tuscaloosa County line.

An investigation was launched, and police quickly found enough evidence to arrest 28-year-old Danial Aaron Madden for the killing.

Madden was charged with murder and placed in the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

The release did not say what police believe led up to the deadly shooting.
