The Alabama women's golf team advanced to the NCAA Championships without even swinging a club. The NCAA decided to cancel the regional event in Baton Rouge sending the top six seeded teams into the finals and ending the season for the rest of the teams involved.

The NCAA determined that the course was playable, but not at a championship level. The course had taken on seven inches of rain over the course of the prior days and apparently had too much standing water on certain holes.
