Alabama Sets Date For A-Day
The Alabama Crimson Tide football program is hoping for a much more normal Spring of 2021 after having its spring practice and its A-Day game cancelled last year due to COVID-19. The Alabama athletics department announced the planned date for A-Day 2021 will be held Saturday, April 17.
A-Day is typically a free event in which the first team offense is paired with the second team defense to take on the second team offense and first team defense. Typically the teams will compete for the right to a steak dinner while the losing team is resigned to eat beanie weenies.
The annual spring spectacle is an excellent opportunity for Crimson Tide fans to get to know the team as typically many players see the field. It remains to be seen what the athletic department will decide as far as fan attendance. Regardless of athletic department policy, fans will likely be able to see the game televised on one of ESPN's multiple networks.
This season's game will be particularly interesting when considering the future of the Crimson Tide quarterback position. Alabama will likely feature Bryce Young, Paul Tyson and incoming freshman Jalen Milroe in the game and it will give the coaching staff and the fan base its first extended look at the three quarterbacks.
Stay tuned to Tide 100.9 as the date approaches for more details about kickoff time, attendance restrictions and more.
