The long road to a National Championship has finally reached its last stop. Two teams that are very familiar with each other are set to battle it out in Indianapolis for the right to call themselves champions of college football.

The Alabama Crimson Tide, the 2021 SEC champions, earned their way to Indianapolis by defeating the American Atheltic Conference champion Cincinnati Bearcats by a score of 27-6 in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The Tide will be seeking their 19th National Championship, and the seventh under the head coaching tenure of Nick Saban.

Meanwhile, Georgia, who Alabama defeated in the SEC championship, defeated the Big Ten champion Michigan Wolverines in the Captial One Orange Bowl handily 34-11. The Bulldogs will be seeking their first title since 1980 where they defeated Notre 17-10 in the Sugar Bowl.

This will be the second time Alabama and Georgia will face off in the College Football Playoff championship game. Alabama won the first matchup in overtime 26-23 thanks to a pass from Tua Tagovailoa to DeVonta Smith.

Kickoff is set for 8 PM EST/7 PM CST at Lucas Oil Stadium. ESPN will televise the game.
