Alabama Linebacker Becomes Next In Line For Transfer Portal
The offseason is now well underway in college football and college football players everywhere are making decisions on their future. Alabama adds senior linebacker Jaylen Moody's name into the growing list of players in the transfer portal.
The former 3-star linebacker from Conway, South Carolina stayed at the Capstone for four seasons. While never rising to true starter status, he appeared in 55 games as a rotational linebacker and a core special teamer.
Moody finished with 44 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was named Special Teams Player of the Week by the Alabama coaching staff twice in 2021.
Moody is opting to enter the transfer portal to use his extra year of eligibility elsewhere. College athletes were granted an additional year of eligibility in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Crimson Tide now has numerous players in the transfer portal, with the NFL Draft declaration date being Monday, Jan. 17, Alabama will soon have a clear picture of all the players the program needs to replace.
