Alabama Adds First 5-Star to 2023 Recruiting Class
The state of Alabama is overflowing with high level talent in the 2023 class and the Crimson Tide has snagged its first in-state commitment on Tuesday. Alabama accepted the commitment of 5-star cornerback out of Florence, Jahlil Hurley.
Hurley becomes the Crimson Tide's second commitment of the 2023 class and is now the highest rated commit in the class. He is considered the No. 4 cornerback in the class and the No. 4 player in the state of Alabama.
According to 247Sports he picked off 5 passes as a junior and helped the Florence Falcons earn a first round appearance in the AHSAA Class 7A playoffs.
The 6-foot-2, 170 corner is one of five prospects in Alabama that's considered a 5-star caliber player. Three of the prospects actually play cornerback as well, making it one of the most talent-rich positions in the states.
Hurley was recruited to Alabama by defensive line coach Freddie Roach and cornerback coach Travaris Robison. The Tide offered Hurley a scholarship in October of 2020 and he was recently on campus in January for the annual Junior Day recruiting events.
Alabama's current 2023 two-man recruiting class ranks No. 22 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC in the early stages of the current cycle.
