The Alabama Crimson Tide received great news on Monday on the recruiting trail. 4-star defensive lineman Jordan Renaud announced to 247Sports that he is committing to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Renaud is considered the No. 7 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 69 overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite.

Renaud, a 6-foot-3, 245 pound prospect is out of Tyler, Texas and committed to the Tide over Oklahoma and numerous other schools.

Renaud becomes the third true defensive lineman commit to join the 2023 class and the fourth when considering edge rushers also. He was recruited to Tuscaloosa by wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins and defensive line coach Freddie Roach.

The Texas product received an offer from Alabama in March 2021 and took an unofficial visit to The Capstone in June 2022. Interestingly enough Renaud committed to Alabama just 10 days after taking his official visit to Norman.

In 2021, as a junior, for Tyler Legacy he recorded 66 tackles with 2 sacks while forcing a fumble and recording an interception. Currently, in Class 6A District 10 the Raiders are 1-3 through the season's first four weeks.

Alabama is now up to 22 overall commitments in the 2023 class and has a firm hold on the No. 1 overall position. Alabama is still recruiting hard at the defensive line position, pushing hard for 5-stars Keon Keely, James Smith and Qua Russaw.
