Hall said officers immediately began administering first aid, and ambulances and a medevac helicopter were dispatched to the scene.

Additional officers were called to the area from Carrollton, Reform, Gordo and Pickensville, who were able to secure the house and begin an investigation.

The five victims were transported to hospitals in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, where one has since succumbed to his injuries.

Hall said after interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, investigators obtained warrants to arrested 27-year-old Jeremy Lynn Colvin and charge him with one count of murder and four counts of attempted murder.

Colvin's family brought him to the Aliceville Police Department later Sunday morning, where he was taken into police custody.

The sheriff said the case is ongoing and more charges may be filed at a later time.

"The quick response by all the Departments involved made this investigation successful. Without the cooperation from all the Officers this quick resolution would not have been possible," Hall said.

Hall also thanked all the witnesses who cooperated with the investigation and helped investigators make a quick arrest.

If anyone has additional information regarding this incident, they are urged to contact the Aliceville Police Department at 205-373-6631 or the Pickens County Sheriff's Office at 205-367-2000.
