"The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface Interstate 359 from the I-20/59 interchange to the 15th Street overpass in Tuscaloosa," McWillaims said, "The contractor is only allowed to close the mainline between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to reduce the impact on traffic."

McWilliams said plans have also been made to ensure the work does not significantly interfere with traffic to and from Gamedays this fall.

"Roadway closures will not be allowed from Friday evening through Sunday morning when the University of Alabama has a home football game," McWilliams said,

The project will repave 2.3 miles of road and the work will be done by Birmingham's Midsouth Paving company.
