Visit Gordo, Alabama’s 2021 Mule Day Festival June 4-5
The Gordo Area Chamber of Commerce announced they will be hosting their 33rd annual Mule Day. The event will take place June 4 and 5 on Main Street in downtown Gordo, Alabama.
Mule Day is free for all attendees and will feature local street vendors and an array of festival-style food and drinks such as chicken on a stick, fried Oreos, funnel cakes, old-fashioned ice cream, and fresh lemonade.
Mule Day is also celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Andy Griffith Show. Members of the show’s cast will be available to pose for photos and sign autographs on Friday and Saturday.
Train rides, a street carnival, and other fun activities will be available for participants at little to no cost. The Mule Day Parade will begin on Saturday at noon and will feature antique cars, tractors, horses, and – of course – mules.
Live entertainment will also be provided for guests at the Mule Day event. More than a dozen artists from the West Alabama area will be performing this year. Visitors can enjoy music from an array of genres, ranging in styles from rock n’ roll to a gospel choir.
