2 Arrested, Charged for Vehicle Break-In Cases Across Alabama
Two men have been arrested for breaking into vehicles and stealing firearms from several hotels across Alabama, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department Wednesday morning.
Investigators with TPD's Criminal Investigations Division has had warrants for Ro'daryus Mitchell, 23, and Jae'Vontea Taylor, 18, since Oct. 27. Mitchell and Taylor are suspected of 22 car break-ins at hotels in October.
Mitchell (pictured above, bottom) and Taylor (pictured above, top) will receive at least 22 felony counts of breaking into vehicles that were parked at various hotels around the state between Oct. 10 and 11. According to a press release from TPD, the pair also stole firearms from vehicles that were parked at hotels along Jack Warner Parkway, Harper Lee Drive and Veterans Memorial Parkway.
U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force officers were able to apprehend Mitchel and Taylor on Tuesday. The two remain in custody.
Police departments from Huntsville, Cullman, Decatur and Oxford aided in the search for Mitchell and Taylor. As this investigation is ongoing, more charges from these jurisdictions could be attached to the pair.
