18-Year-Old Killed in Crash on Tuscaloosa’s 15th Street Tuesday
An 18-year-old Tuscaloosa man was killed in a major collision on 15th Street Tuesday, police have confirmed.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said the victim's Pontiac sedan was struck by an oncoming Ford F-250 as he tried to cross 15th Street from Second Avenue.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, Taylor said. The driver in the Pontiac, who police have not publicly identified, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Tuesday evening.
Taylor said TPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded and closed a portion of 15th Street for two and a half hours, but all lanes have since reopened.
Their investigation is ongoing. For updates on the deadly accident as they become available, stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread.
