1 Killed in Thursday Night Shooting at West Tuscaloosa Residence

One person is dead after a shooting in west Tuscaloosa late Thursday night, police report.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media just after 12 a.m. Friday TPD officers and VCU investigators are at a residence on 33rd Avenue in Tuscaloosa on a shooting call.

Sellers said one male is dead - he did not share the victim's age or identity yet.

By the count of the Tuscaloosa Thread, this marks the 16th homicide the VCU has investigated so far in 2024.
