Missing Woman’s Body Found in West Alabama Woods
The body of a woman missing since the middle of last week was discovered Sunday wrapped in a blanket in a wooded area of Fayette County.
Friends and family have been on social media asking for help finding 21-year-old Laci Whitson, who was from the Bankston community in Fayette County, since Wednesday morning.
The young mother was reportedly at a rehabilitation facility in Florence, Alabama, in northwest Lauderdale County when a male acquaintance picked her up and they left together before dawn Wednesday.
No one could reach Whitson after that, and on Sunday morning, her father Larry Whitson said her body had been discovered wrapped in a blanket in the woods in Fayette County.
Whitson was found off County Road 52 in northeast Fayette County.
Fox 6 WBRC is reporting the coroner called Whitson's death suspicious and suspects foul play was involved - authorities in Fayette County are expected to say more about the situation soon.
