1 Injured in Shooting in Northport Tuesday, Person of Interest in Custody
One person is hospitalized and another is in police custody after a shooting in Northport Tuesday morning.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Northport Police Officers were called to an apartment complex on 43rd Avenue around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

One person had been shot, and Kennedy said they were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with injuries that police do not believe are life-threatening.
Kennedy said the VCU has taken over the investigation and has a person of interest in custody.
In a Monday afternoon update, Kennedy said the shooting seems to have come after an argument between the victim, a 54-year-old man, and the alleged shooter, who is 29.
Cedric Alexander Sanders, Jr, age 29, has been charged with first-degree assault and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $30,000 cash bond.
