Young Couple Found Murdered in Shed in Hale County, Teens Charged with Capital Murder
A young couple was found murdered in a shed in Hale County this weekend and a teenager has been charged with capital murder in connection to the case.
Hale County district attorney Michael Jackson told the Tuscaloosa Thread that the bodies of Devyn Sterling and Shalondria Grey-Chavers were discovered in a shed in Sawyerville Sunday.
Jackson said investigators believe the killings took place Friday night, but the bodies were not discovered until Sunday.
Both victims are 24, Jackson said, and the two are thought to have been romantically involved.
Two 16-year-old people have been arrested and charged with capital murder. Jackson said Jaligha Brantley and Daquaviin Wynn have both been charged with capital murder and will be held without bond.
Two others, 21-year-old Damyan Holifield, Jr. and 18-year-old Cardell Wynn, were arrested and charged with hindering prosecution.
Detectives with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation are working the case, Jackson said, and additional arrests are expected soon.
