Woman Arrested After Deadly Gunfight With Woman at Tuscaloosa County Gas Station
A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after she was allegedly involved in a deadly gunfight at a Tuscaloosa County gas station Saturday night.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said sheriff's deputies and the VCU were called to the shell service station at 1300 Crescent Ridge Road off Jack Warner Parkway around 10:45 Saturday night.
Two women were suffering from gunshot wounds, including 46-year-old Lashonda Leight Street, who died at DCH after the shooting.
Kennedy said police determined the second woman, 43-year-old Rosanna Latrice Wilson, shot and killed the other woman, Street.
Wilson was also wounded in the exchange, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
Kennedy said the two women got into a fight in the parking lot of the Shell station before Wilson shot and killed Street.
"After consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, Rosanna Latrice Wilson was charged with Murder and committed to jail with no bond," Kennedy said.
By the count of the Tuscaloosa Thread staff, it is the 15th homicide the VCU has investigated so far this year.
