A 32-year-old Bibb County man has been arrested and charged with five counts of capital murder after he allegedly killed his wife and four young children Thursday night.

Police say Brandon Kendrick, 32, shot and killed his wife and four children at a home on Greentree Drive in West Blocton Thursday night.

The Bibb County town is about 40 miles east of Tuscaloosa.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, who is handling the investigation, distributed a media release about the quintuple homicide Friday afternoon.

"The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday, July 18, in the 1000 Block of Greentree Drive in West Blocton, located within Bibb County," Troopers said. "Investigators discovered Brandon Kendrick, 32, of West Blocton, fatally shot a 2-year-old, two 6-year-olds and a 9-year-old, along with his 24-year-old wife, Kelsey Kendrick. Of the four juveniles, two were Kendrick’s children, and the other two were relatives."

Kendrick was arrested by Bibb County Sheriff's deputies without a fight and has been charged with five counts of capital murder, according to sheriff Jody Wade.
