Every week of the NFL season we'll celebrate the top Crimson Tide alumni performer in the NFL as the Bama Pro of the Week. In Week 1, former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs put on a show for the inaugural game of the recently relocated Las Vegas Raiders.

Jacobs scorched the Carolina Panthers defense for 93 rushing yards on 25 carries alongside four catches for 46 yards. His three rushing touchdowns lifted the Raiders to a 34-30 road victory.

The second-year back scored more touchdowns than any other non-quarterback to open the NFL season while his 139 yards from scrimmage are good for 5th in the league. He stands tied at 6th with Detroit's Adrian Peterson on the rushing yards leaderboard.

What has consistently separated Jacobs from the average back is his ability to break tackles. Jacobs broke 12 tackles Sunday, five more than any other back in Week 1. According to NBC Bay Area and PFF, Jacobs broke 78 tackles in his rookie campaign, the most by any rookie running back in league history, despite missing three games due to injury.

"Man, this offense can be as great as we want it to be," Jacobs told CBS Sports after the game. It should be noted Alabama alum and first-round rookie receiver Henry Ruggs helped set up Jacobs's first touchdown after catching a 45-yard pass on his first NFL reception.

That's a testament to the Raiders offense, which faced an unknown defense in Carolina as Las Vegas was relegated to watching film on Baylor to determine the best scheme of attack.

As it turned out giving the ball to Josh Jacobs just short of 30 times was the answer.
