Tuscaloosa Police Investigating Second Monday Shooting in Northport, Alabama
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is currently responding to Valley Hills in Northport on reports of a shooting.
Marty Sellers, co-commander of the VCU, said one victim has been shot in the chest.
Sellers did not mention the victim's state, or whether any suspects were being sought or were in custody as of publishing.
The VCU is made up of detectives from TPD, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the Northport Police Department and the University of Alabama Police Department. They investigate all unnatural deaths, homicides and most sex crimes in Tuscaloosa County.
This marks the second shooting in one day in Tuscaloosa County.
