"A passing motorist drove past the wreck scene and called 911 at 3:03 a.m. Officers have now determined that a white sedan occupied by one man was traveling west on University Boulevard East when he crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck that was traveling east," Taylor said.

"A man and a woman who were in the truck were killed immediately. A woman who was a passenger was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The man who was driving the sedan was transported to DCH for injuries that were less serious. Both remain in stable condition this morning," Taylor said.

The portion of University Boulevard East that runs between Bama Salvage and Bee Branch Road remains closed while TPD's Accident Reconstruction Team is on the scene.
