The truck, which was being driven by a 36-year-old from Coker, was struck by a 2014 Ford F-150. King said a 16-year-old from Northport was driving the second truck.

The 12-year-old in the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were injured and treated at area hospitals. Two other kids, in the Chevy, a 14-year-old and a 5-year-old, were also injured and hospitalized.

King said the crash happened on Romulus Road near Libby Road west of Northport city limits in Tuscaloosa County.

No other details were available Tuesday as Troopers continue to investigate.
