Widespread Road Closures Anticipated Ahead of Trump Commencement Speech in Tuscaloosa
The City of Tuscaloosa continues to prepare for President Donald Trump's special commencement speech at the University of Alabama on Thursday, May 1.
Several roads leading into and near the University may temporarily close ahead of Trump's visit.
The 2nd Avenue overpass is closed and will not reopen to traffic until the conclusion of the special commencement ceremony.
A Tuscaloosa Police Department official confirmed that they are coordinating traffic control throughout the city; however, the President's official route as well as his arrival and departure times are being kept quiet as a matter of national security.
Residents should anticipate widespread temporary road closures around campus before, during, and after the commencement ceremony.
