The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, which has not performed since February because of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced a virtual fall concert series Thursday afternoon.

Jenny Mann, TSO's executive director, said the four-concert fall series will be "an unprecedented orchestral experience."

“We wanted to create something special for not just Tuscaloosa, but music lovers across the Southeast,” Mann said. “It is our mission to serve our thriving community. This concert series will be the most unique undertaking in our forty-one-year history and something you won’t want to miss. With a minimum donation of five dollars, you will be able to experience one of our concerts from the comfort of your couch.”

The concerts will consist of newly recorded performances from small ensembles and premiere on September 21, October 19, November 23, and December 21.

Mann said the series will feature small but intimate performances from ensembles performing classical, popular and even holiday pieces that aim to mix new and familiar music.

"Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra’s goal is to position the Fall Concert Series as the premier music and arts virtual event of the Southeast, while also educating, engaging, and inspiring youth and adults about the performing arts within our community," Mann said.

Music lovers wanting to see the show and support the orchestra can do so at http://www.tsoonline.org/watch with a minimum five dollar donation.
