Tuscaloosa Police Investigating Saturday Night Homicide, Surpassing Record High

Police in Tuscaloosa are investigating a homicide Saturday night.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media at 10:15 p.m. that TPD and VCU are on the scene of a homicide in the 2900 block 17th Street in Tuscaloosa.

It is the 17th in the city so far in 2024 by the count of Tuscaloosa Thread staff, making this weekend's case a record-setter and passing the city's all-time annual homicide record set in 2006.
